Mid Term Class Thoughts

So I wanted to make this post as we are now almost half way through this semester and my first year seminar. I wanted to share my thoughts on the class. When I got my schedule, I was kinda upset about this class that I got. I have never been into history, it it has for sure not been my best subject. I was nervous I was going to do terrible because it did not interest me in high school. Little did I know I would enjoy this class and the amount of history about slavery I have learned is crazy. I love the idea of the blog and incorporating that into the class. I think this is why I have enjoyed it so much, because instead of just learning in class and forgetting about it , I get to go back home and write about it and make more sense. The material has surprised me as well. I thought since it is a broad topic and includes a lot of events and is controversial, I thought the subject would be dry. To my surprise, my teacher is full of spunk and knows what hes talking about. He makes the class enjoyable and when we learn, we do it in ways that help you remember. For instance we always do mock trials. These have helped me get into a roll and learn both sides of the argument. There is also no book to read which makes the class so much more fun because you do not just read and take quizzes, you learn in a more fun way. So if you are thinking about taking this class, or are taking this class in the future, it is way more fun than you may think and will be enjoyable. You will also learn a lot of information that most of the population might not even know. So definitely

ree

lesson learned here is do not judge a book by its cover!
